Artist Statement: Time dictates our understanding of everything that we encounter - from the relationships we maintain, to the physical places we occupy, to the objects we've come to think we know, and to the surfaces we plant our bodies on.

Employing a mix of analog and digital photography techniques within a single work, I rely upon the strengths of the analog process to achieve photographic veracity through visual description. From there, I toy with representation and perception to access experiences, memories, and associations of the everyday.

ARTIST BIO: Sean Corcoran is an Albany-based visual artist. Born and raised on Long Island, he received his BA in Psychology from St. John's University in 2014. Sean received his MA and MFA in Studio Art at the University at Albany, SUNY in 2018 and 2020, respectively.

His artistic practice is based in photography, audiovisual installations, and drawing. Sean is available for commissions, short term assignments, and long term regional documentary work.

In addition, Sean maintains an independent fine art documentation practice and his clients include regional artists, museums, galleries, and art institutions such as The University Art Museum at the University At Albany, SUNY, and Stair Galleries in Hudson, New York."
