Join MHLC's Development Director and NYS licensed fishing guide Tara Tornello for a unique streamside adventure! You and a guest will learn the basics of fly fishing for trout, including various casting techniques, how to "read" a river, trout behavior and feeding habits, and much more!

This item includes one half-day (4-hour) guided trip for you and a guest for the Fall 2025 or Spring 2026 fishing season, complete with personalized instruction based on your interests and experience level, plus gear and equipment rentals for your trip. We will choose a trout stream in the Catskills or extended Capital Region and practice catch-and-release fishing techniques. Travel to and from the fishing destination is not included. Your trip date and location will be coordinated with your guide ahead of time and based on your guide's availability and river conditions. Guests should be comfortable walking on steep and uneven surfaces and wading in knee-deep water.
