Having seen the effects of unbridled development in other regions, Laura knows that land development is a clock that you can't unwind. She also knows that small farmers are under tremendous pressure to sell land that has been in families for generations. As individuals, she believes we can make a difference by choosing local, organically grown food. This helps expand the local food economy, supports local farmers, and builds community resilience. She founded her studio - Farm Share Studio - as a focus for her paintings, which celebrate local food and upstate New York farmers -- and as a way to expand the conversation about food, farming, and development.
