Female Bongo Calf Naming Lot #14

12 bongo calves kori odum

Naming rights to the female eastern bongo calf born January 2021.

Two eastern bongo females were born in the last two months: one on December 17 and the other on January 8. Both calves are fathered by our one male, Mickey. All our bongos are first-time parents and have done a wonderful job caring for their growing family. You can see our new additions to the Zoo along the Africa loop.

Eastern bongo, also called mountain bongo, are a critically endangered subspecies of bongo. Less than 200 of these individuals remain in the mountain forests of central Kenya due to human activities like deforestation and hunting.

We’ll send you an email alert if someone outbids you.
