Water molecules are literally unable to be apart.  They stick to each other in a polar interaction process that makes water unique.  As science writer Lyall Watson says, "Water breaks all the rules."  The Chinese proverb quoted offers a different way to think about cohesion bonding of water.  Earth is a closed system. That proffered drop of water is the redistribution of a finite resource that can equalize the benefits for all.  And where one drop of water goes, others follow.  Rain to freshet; freshets to streams, to rivers, and the open seas.  I chose the Belted Kingfisher because in fresh, brackish, or salt water bodies, they are indicator species of food and water quality for Puget Sound.
