Tour of Maurice Sendak's Home and Studio Lot #27

The guided tour includes seeing Maurice Sendak's home, studio and gardens in Ridgefield where he lived from 1972 until his death in 2012. Visitors will get the chance to encounter the environment that inspired such books as Outside Over There, The Juniper Tree, and Dear Mili.  They will see a selection of works of art by Sendak as well as works by artists in his collection including William Blake, Winslow Homer, and Samuel Palmer. It will conclude with chocolate cake--a big favorite of Sendak--and refreshments.

The tour should is limited to six people, and everyone in the group must be over 12 years old. The tour needs to be scheduled in advance for July-September during a Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday from 2 pm to 4 pm.
