“Tubing on the Animas” Lot #11

“Tubing on the Animas”
Autumn Cameron
Mixed Media
Artist Bio:
I started out as a watercolorist. I began experimenting with other medias and now
paint with seven medias based on the subject matter. When I do pet portraits I like
to start a base background with watercolor and work up to pastel to get the
texture of their hair or fur.
I majored in Art Education back in the late 60's with the intention to teach in high schools.
That never happened. Life got in the way. I did teach three nights a week in my home:
a total blast. Life led me on many adventures, moving many times: Michigan, Ontario Canada, British Columbia, Alberta, Quebec, Montana, Oklahoma and finally Colorado.
Durango became my home in 1979 come hell or high water: no regrets.
I designed and marketed my own jewelry line for twelve years: many travels
Twenty four years ago the ache to paint was relentless and I began. I used my five
chickens as models for gesture drawing and started painting chickens. I became
know as the Chicken Lady.
Presently, I paint anything and everything: my life experiences. Primarily my style
is whimsical. Creating is my happy place. I am also a published poet pursuing an
adventure in the two combined.
I often walk around with paintings totally designed in my head until I am ready to
lay them down in a creative style. Sometimes carrying them for months. I often awaken
with poetry that flows in my brain as well. Being an insomniac I can entertain myself
in my wake fullness.
I have had many careers and successes in life art being my favorite.
