Quilt Lot #36

This is a quilt of love made by 3 generations of women. Quilts had many uses in the black culture. During slavery time, slaves would stitch code words to send messages to each other. Quilts were also used for fellowship and as covering. Scraps from old clothes and sheets helped to make the unique patterns we love to see. This quilt means family. My great grandmother taught my Bannie who taught my mom, who then taught me.
