The red stripes represent the blood that was shed by our people in their fight for our freedom. Yellow stripes represent the richness of our heritage plundered during slavery. Green stripes represent the fertility of the land on where our ancestors plowed and grew crops to supply our needs. The black stripes represent the culture of a race of strong, proud people. The pictures are placed on the stars because they are some of the stars that shine bright in our fight for freedom. The glitter is for the sparkle that represents the light that we shine upon the names and faces of these people that we pay tribute and homage to during this month for their heroism.
