Artist Chris Scavotto spent years photographing in the studio of her friend and mentor, the late Edward Boccia. "Cadmium Red" captures the vibrancy of color.

Scavotto’s work leads you into the artist’s studio and you find yourself in a beautiful landscape of object and color. Spending time in the art studio of the late Edward Boccia, she presents the beauty and intimacy of his precious tools.
Chris Scavotto earned a BFA in painting and an MA in art history from Washington University in St. Louis. She began her career teaching in the St. Louis Community College District before establishing a graphic design business developing publications, logos and graphic identity. Her work has been recognized in the Pollux Awards, Barcelona, Spain; the Biennial of Fine Art and Documentary Photography, Berlin, Germany; and many times, in the Photo Review Annual International Photography Competition.
