Joyce Lundy a native of Washington, D.C., made her operatic debut as Nella in Gianni Schicci with the Municipal Opera of Baltimore. Ms. Lundy hails performances with the Washington National Opera, Virginia Opera, Wolf Trap Opera, Summer Opera Theater of Washington, Opera Bel Canto, Opera Camerata, Diaspora Opera, the Maryland Opera Society, and the Washington National Wagner Society. 
 
Acclaimed roles include Tosca, (Aria Club of Washington), Madama Butterfly (Aria Club of Washington), Aida (Aria Club of Washington covered for Virginia Opera), Ortlinde from Die Walkure (Virginia Opera), Jo from Bruce Adolpe’s Let freedom Sing (Washington National Opera), Mother from Hansel and Gretel (Opera Camerata), and Annie from Porgy and Bess (Virginia Opera).
 
As a concert soloist, noteworthy performances include Handel’s Messiah with the National Symphony Orchestra and Verdi’s Requiem with the National Cathedral Choral Society.
 
A former recipient of the Meistersinger Award from the Washington National Wagner Society, Spectrum Artist for Virginia Opera, and Teaching Artist for the Washington National Opera, Joyce is an often sought performer, instructor, and coach in the Washington Metropolitan area.

Joyce, a longtime, respected educator and adjudicator for music festivals, was on the voice faculty of the esteemed Levine Music for over 20 years, where she also served as Department Chair. She is now sharing her talents and passion for teaching with students at the Duke Ellington School of the Arts, where she serves as an advanced sight-singing instructor as well as a movement and performance coach. Joyce lives in Fort Washington, MD, with her husband Dr. Patrick Lundy, a highly acclaimed gospel artist, composer, director, and music educator.
