Blake Pierre is a mixed media artist born in Shreveport, LA, and raised in Prince George's County, Maryland. His work's inspired by questions surrounding topics such as; self-identity, self-image, and spirituality. He is deeply engaged in the practices of shadow work, dreamwork, and the study of spiritual and mental development. Blake's inspired by the work of psychologist Carl Jung as it relates to the individuation process and spiritual enlightenment. Interest in such discussions constantly informs his artistic practice and influences the mood of his art.  
 
Blake's multidisciplinary practice explores traversing several methods of creating paintings to draw the viewer into an environment with each piece. He often employs bold and vivid hues of oil and acrylic paint energetically applied using a combination of his fingers, paint brushes, and palette knives. He also uses several materials, such as crystals, glass, fabric, gold leaf, and resin. 
 
His abstraction is born from a desire to express subconscious thought and emotion. Fueled by a spirit of experimentation, he allows much room for his intuition to lead his decision-making while painting. What drives his creative practice the most is the desire to constantly innovate new ways of creating.
